Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts

Housed in the 1862 landmark Flushing Town Hall, the Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts presents creative works across a range of media from painting, sculpture, and photography to the performing arts, and also offers public seminars and support to artists.

On-site programs: School groups can visit current exhibitions, attend live performances, or take walking tours that trace Flushing history since 1645 and view downtown landmarks such as the Quaker Meeting House, Bowne House and the Flushing Armory. (Grades 1–9; $) The Civil War Treasure Chest program allows students to examine objects, articles of clothing, toys, and a newspaper from 1862, the year in which Town Hall was built. (Grades 1–7; $)
