Gotham Fellows

As part of the Teaching American History funding, the Gotham Center and partners developed a 60 hour Fellows program of intensive seminars for twenty-four 7 th and 8 th grade teachers representing all twelve regions throughout the academic year; and an ambitious program of formal, mentored dissemination through which teachers learned to develop and deliver professional development to their peers.

In addition, Gotham Fellows

  • Developed standards-based units of study based upon the New York City and the Nation program content and methods.
  • Reviewed and used educational resources provided by the program including history books, manuals, primary and secondary resources.
  • used the primary documents and resources developed during the summer institute.
